Bach’s music is, above all, a celebration of human voices joined together in song. At the conclusion of each week’s cantata, every member of his congregation rose and contributed their unique sound—whether blessed with exquisite virtuosity or humble tone—to the final chorale that has become synonymous with his life and work.

This spirit of community and inclusion was a foundational ideal of Bach’s artistic vision, and the Board of the Colorado Bach Ensemble carries this tradition forward today. The music we make together—whether as performers, staff, or board members—can be created by all hands, sung by all mouths, enjoyed by all ears, and loved by all hearts.

We are committed to fostering an organization on every level that gives voice to all the members of our community. In keeping with Bach’s example, we place accessibility to this wonderful music—for people in all walks of life and in all corners of the world—at the center of our mission.

Through these guiding principles, we aspire to create an organization that is as enduring, esteemed, and universal in message as the art that continues to inspire us.
