Hungarian-born Mezzo-Soprano, Anna Engländer has performed with acclaimed ensembles across the United States and Europe, including Wolf Trap Opera, the Colorado Music Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, the Colorado Bach Ensemble, and Opera Futura in Italy.
Ms. Engländer’s operatic roles include Nancy (Albert Herring), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Penelope (Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria), Jo (Little Women), Suzuki (Madama Butterfly), Baba the Turk (The Rake’s Progress), La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi), and Mezzo-soprano soloist (Bernstein’s Mass), among others.
Now based in Colorado, Ms. Engländer’s recent engagements include solo appearances with the Colorado Bach Ensemble and the Boulder Philharmonic in Handel’s Messiah, and with St. Martin’s Chamber Choir in Mozart’s Requiem. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance with honors from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Rice University, where she was awarded the Renée Fleming Endowment Scholarship.
