Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, soprano Jordyn Tatum graduated
‘summa cum laude’ from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Music
Education (vocal concentration), with secondary studies in organ and piano. Joining the
Cathedral Chorister program at the Cathedral of Saint John in 2008, she now serves as
the Chorister Assistant and a soprano section leader. With the Cathedral Choir Jordyn
has toured in Cathedrals nationally and internationally, premiered new choral music by
composers in residence including Stephanie Martin, Cecilia McDowall, Sarah Quartel
and more, and has been a featured soloist on four of the choirs’ commercially released
CDs (through Raven CD). Outside of her work with the Cathedral Choir, Jordyn has
been apart of various summer choral courses across the US including the inaugural
(2023) Jacobs School of Music Schola Cantorum Course at Indiana University, a vocal
scholar at the the Spire Chamber Ensemble Choral Conducting Institute, and a course
choral scholar and intern at the St. Thomas Girls Chorister Course in New York City.
She performs regularly with the professional ensemble Polyphony: Voices of New
Mexico singing both world and New Mexico premiers of new choral music. Jordyn
currently teaches middle school choir with Albuquerque Public Schools.
