Mae Alice Harrell, soprano, is pursuing a Master’s in Voice Performance and Pedagogy at CU Boulder under the tutelage of Abigail Nims. She previously earned degrees in Voice Performance and Political Science from Oberlin College-Conservatory.
Her operatic experience includes the roles of Lucy in Menotti’s The Telephone, Barbarina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, La Musica/Euridice in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo, and originating the role of Alice 1 in the world premiere of Melissa Dunphy’s Alice Tierney. She is an avid ensemble musician, performing with various professional choirs and baroque ensembles throughout her career. She has recently sung as a soprano soloist in Bach’s St. John Passion BWV 245 with the Louisville Master Choral and will join the Eaton Baroque Ensemble as the soloist for Bach’s Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen BWV 61 this spring. Beyond performing, Mae Alice finds joy in teaching and exploring diverse musical styles.
