Join us to experience the sublime beauty, magnificent grandeur, and transcendent power of Bach’s B Minor Mass. What is remarkable about this work is its overall unity and cohesiveness, despite the fact that it includes a combination of reworked and newly composed music from over a 25-year period of Bach’s life. Because the music is drawn from various sources, the Mass displays a culmination of the composer’s genius mastery of Baroque style, mood, and form, as well as his skillful ability to write for any combination of forces. While the work wasn’t performed in its entirety until 1859, well after Bach’s death, it is considered by many to be his greatest choral achievement.
