Michael Brotherton is a trumpet player currently based out of Westminster, Colorado. Recently, Brotherton completed his DMA at CU Boulder in Trumpet performance and pedagogy. Originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, he also has a Master of Music from East Carolina University and Bachelor of Music from Gardner-Webb University.
Michael currently plays principal trumpet with the Longmont Symphony Orchestra, and recently won first prize in the graduate solo division of the National Trumpet Competition. As a baroque trumpet player and enthusiast, Brotherton also has received honorable mention in the North American Baroque Trumpet Competition.
