Edwin Smith has recently retired from his private practice of general surgery in south metro Denver after close to four decades. He and his wife have been longtime lovers of classical music, but lack the talent to be more than devoted fans and supporters of local musical arts.
Dr. James Kim was first known to them through his work with the choral music program at CSU, where they watched his students, including two of their grandchildren, blossom into charming and talented singers under his guidance.
As their young lives were enriched, so are the lives of the musicians involved in the Colorado Bach Ensemble. To perform some of the world’s iconic music with talented colleagues and under a world class director is a gift to all of them. And the results are a gift to each of us. Dr. Smith is grateful for the chance to be affiliated with the CBE and the work of Dr. Kim.
