Colorado native Mo Bailey is a dynamic performer specializing in early music, musical theater, and new music. Recent engagements include Cinderella (Into the Woods), Rosalie Mullins (School of Rock) and Diana (Next to Normal), alongside regular solo and chorus performances with the Colorado Bach Ensemble, Ars Nova Singers, and Seicento Baroque Ensemble. Mo spent many years as the resident soprano of Solis, a Boulder-based quintet that specialized in Renaissance vocal music and newly commissioned works from composers around the world. With Solis, Mo performed at the Paramount Theatre alongside Jónsi (Sigur Rós) and Alex for the nationwide tour of their renowned album, Riceboy Sleeps, and can be heard on the soundtrack of the critically acclaimed new Adam Sandler film, Uncut Gems. Highlights of her solo career include the roles of Zerlina (Don Giovanni, Mozart), Jazz Trio (Trouble in Tahiti, Bernstein), Ginevra (Ariodante, Handel), 1st Lady (Die Zauberflöte, Mozart), Linda Porter (Red, Hot, and Cole, Cole Porter), and Jenny (Three Sisters Who Are Not Sisters, Ned Rorem). She received her Bachelor’s in horn performance and economics from DePauw University and completed her master’s degree in Vocal Performance at CU Boulder in 2018, studying under Abigail Nims. Outside of her musical career, Mo works as a Program Manager at Google and spends her free time skiing, climbing, and hiking with her husband, Max.
