Sarah Biber is a versatile cellist and viola da gamba player known for her rich interpretations of Baroque and early music. With degrees from Oberlin Conservatory, the Sydney Conservatorium, and a DMA from Stony Brook University, she has performed internationally across the U.S., Australia, and China. Based in Colorado, Sarah plays with ensembles including the Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado, Colorado Bach Ensemble, and Colorado Chamber Players. A committed educator and advocate for historically informed performance, she brings warmth and scholarly insight to both teaching and performance. Sarah Biber performs widely on both Baroque and modern instruments and is known for her expressive interpretations of early repertoire. She specializes in what she describes as the “imperfect pearls” of Baroque and pre‑Baroque music, seeking out works that are less frequently heard and giving them fresh life.
